I have "IBM Thinkpad TP61" notebook with installed Windows XP SP3.
Videoadapter of this notebook has driver software with GUI.
There are 3D-acceleration, layers-, gamma- and other settings.
In this GUI there is button "Reset settings to default (manufacturer)
values". I noticed, that all of 3D-acceleration, layers- settings 
were been selected, and after I been press the button, they has
been disabled.

P.S.: I think, that there are some problems in Scilab graphics modules
which lead to conflicting with some videoadapter settings.
