David,

If you meant that you were trying to install on Scilab 6 some toolboxes compiled for Scilab 5.5, this is clearly the problem.
There is no compatibility.
The error message when trying to load a 5.0 library into Scilab 6 has been clarified since then.
The misleading message was the issue here.
