GSoC project: Configurable Scope

Hello,

My name is Kamil Neczaj and I am currently studying in the first year
on Master's degree program of Automatics and Robotics at AGH
University of Science and Technology in Cracow, Poland. I would like
to participate in GSoC 2012 by working for Scilab. During my studies I
have developed programming skills. Most of my academic programming
projects was written in C/C++. Moreover, I am familiar with
Octave/Matlab which I use in many everyday tasks at my university.

I am interested in making Configurable Scope. Could you tell me how
can I start? What kind of configuration the scope needs beside colour
lines and title. Is matlab-like configuration enough or it should be
more flexible? Does this project concern all of three scopes: CSCOPE,
CMSCOPE, CFSCOPE?
