Message-ID: <296f12ef0807171827h444e87a6ge5f43a75cafdb990@mail.gmail.com> hi, all, I noticed that there were 4 languages had been translated over a half of the content. They are: - Chinese(Traditional), by Yung-Jang Lee 2138 points - Russian, by Voronaam 1878 points - Chinese(Simplified), by Shiqi Yu, 1799 points - French, by ycollet 1474 points Will these translations be added to Scilab 5? If so, I hope they can be added to the next BETA release, and then users will test them. I have also another suggestion. I hope Scilab can put the translators' names to "*About Dialog*", not just a word "contributors" like now. I think Gnome applications are our good example. There is a "Credit" button on About dialog. If you press "Credit" button, authors' names, translators' names will be shown. -- Shiqi Yu Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Indeed, these 4 languages are targets I have in mind for the version 5 (with maybe Italian). Thanks for the > suggestion. Sylvestre, I wouldn't have expected such a reaction from you,I'm quite surprised. This primary contributor is asking you for the very least the Scilab team can do to thank him for his contributions. Instead of just writing "... / Contributors" in the About box of Scilab, he's asking to have his full name in that box, and even more unobtrusive, he is even proposing to hide behind a "Credits" button. Really, this is not just a "suggestion". It's the very least you can do to thank these people for working for free on the translations. OK, misunderstanding :) Please, try something: * open a gnome application (for example, I used Evolution) * help => about * credit * you will find 3 tabs (Written by, Documented by and Translated by) It is these 3 tabs that I didn't know and that I find understanding. Of course we will put name of the people. A quick look into the source code shows in fact that intersiz seems to receive a value in both stack.h and stack-def.h Francois From rodolforg at gmail.com Wed Jul 23 08:03:41 2008 From: rodolforg at gmail.com (Rodolfo Ribeiro Gomes) Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2008 03:03:41 -0300 Subject: [Scilab-loc] \not quite right\ strings In-Reply-To: <48830EC0.50306@free.fr> References: <81cfb8130807181759h61d4ddecu8b56506b60af590e@mail.gmail.com> <1216462412.3959.0.camel@zlarin.inria.fr> <48830EC0.50306@free.fr> Message-ID: <81cfb8130807222303p4af566d0x5b1d643d40aabbd5@mail.gmail.com> 2008/7/20 Fran?ois Vogel : > I think he says that the error message instructs to edit stack.h (to > increase intersiz) whereas the define for intersiz is in stack-def.h > > So the error message is wrong in his opinion. > > A quick look into the source code shows in fact that intersiz seems to > receive a value in both stack.h and stack-def.h > Yes, that's what I mean... New ones: at module "io", there's the string "%s: Wrong type for input argument #%d: A string." I suppose, it ends "A string (was) expected" @"linear-algebra" module: "%s: Wrong values for input argument #%d: Non-negative scalar expected." valueS? So, it should be scalarS? Another issue: - first/second argument, first/second dimension. Like French, Portuguese has gender... and they're different for such cases above. - primeirO/segundO argumento, primeirA/segundA dimens?o. Therefore, the use of "%s argument is wrong" and "%s dimension is wrong" causes a little orthographic/grammatic trouble here... Any work-around? Under Windows, we are thinking about introducing a new Scilab function to set the language. Under the Linux, it is not the philosophy of this OS to be able to switch a language. Everything is done thanks to the "shell/system variable". Sylvestre
