Problems with sublpot

Hi,

When I am trying to use subplot with SciLab 5.0.2 it does not appear to 
split the drawing screen as expected? I am trying the following;

scf(1);
subplot(2,1,1),
plot2d(myfreq,20*log10(abs(Gol)),logflag='ln')

I would expect the drawing screen to be split in half and the plot to be 
plotted on the upper half?Instead the whole drawing window is being 
used? Any suggestions?
