Info about using scilab

Hi,
I have just downloaded Scilab.
I have a quick question.
Is it possible to run Scilab as a process, so I could call it from a batch
file for example?
Sorry if this is not the right place for posting a question.
if it is, can you please direct me to the appropriate place?
