You just hit on the problem,!!  I discovered that Windows 7 won't let me write to certain directories.  If I write to "My Documents"  it works fine.  Thank you for your attention (and--yes I will use 'bugzilla' next time--as a metter of fact, I'll send a few x64 issues)

Hello Tim,

Could you make a bug report on bugzilla.scilab.org where you precise your OS, what you want to export ... ?
Check if you have the right to write in the directory where you want to put your file.
