However I would like to MAXIMIZE and not minimize the stress mapping and I don't know if it's possible ...
But i'll take a particular look on your example ...

Hello,
I joined to this mail an example of such a thing performed using code
aster and scilab.
The script to be launched is launch_optim.sce. Be careful, you will need
to set up some paths in this script.
The optimization problem is the following: optimize the shape of a truss
bridge so as to minimize the deformation of the deck of the bridge.
