Scilab-Hardware interaction: Serial Port .dll for Scilab 5.x

Hi everyone,

Is there any Dynamic Link library (serial.dll) available for Scilab 5.x
family?
The one that is contributed on

http://www.scilab.org/contrib/index_contrib.php?page=displayContribution&fileID=295

works only with 4.x version.

I would like to know how it would be possible to interact with the hardware
port (e.g., USB port) through SCILAB. If there is any other possible
solution, it's welcome.
