It appears that you are either missing a parentheses in your etdynlibext statement, or have one too many. 3. For some reason, you have some extra slashes in your "undefined symbol". This often occurs when your environmental variables are poorly constructed or defined. Not knowing how your system is set up, it is difficult to evaluate further. The opportunities for image analysis are numerous. From boundary identification to spatial Fourier transformations, there are many approaches none the less, tools to perform these tasks. While I can not tell you any details of the available tool boxes, simplicity has virtues. Additionally, once you set up some 1D tools for the static cases, 2D (distance x time) would be very interesting. Watching the development of a image could be useful in tuning compositions and voltage patterns. And all of that setup in a design of experiment framework. I wonder if anyone has developed a DOE framework in Scilab. ray _____ From: Julian Marchesi [mailto:MarchesiJR at cardiff.ac.uk] Sent: Monday, April 04, 2011 5:33 AM To: users at lists.scilab.org Subject: [scilab-Users] re sci-lab Hi New to sci lab, can it process DNA and protein 1-D electrophoresis images? cheers Julian Dr Julian R. Which is better to use in which situation? I'm trying to fit the output of a parameter-dependent ODE model to some data, i.e. I'm trying to fit the solution of y'(t;p) = f(y,p), y(0) = y_0 to some experimental data. I wrote an objective function that solves the ODE and calculates the sum of the squared deviations from the data. When I run it, I sometimes get the cryptic message lsoda-- at t (=r1), mxstep (=i1) steps needed before reaching tout where i1 is : 500 where r1 is : 0.1494242403106D-01 Warning: Result may be inaccurate. !--error 21 Invalid index. This was with the standard algorithm (i.e. 'qn'). I also tried to require a bound on the gradient for termination, so I use something like leastsq( ..... , 'ar', 1e8, 1e8, 1e11), but at the end I still get a gradient that has norm 1e24. Is there a way to write out why the search terminated? I of course can share more of my code, it's fairly simple, actually. Hi Peter, This is a known bug of graphic export... and for now there is no bug fix possible. You need probably to wait for 5.4.x versions... A crappy workaround (not tested) could be to export several parts of the final graphic in SVG and to superpose the different layers in a software like Inkscape, finally you can export it into pdf. This is indeed a bad bug and here is my crappy workaround: Usually this bug is triggered when the figure contains a grayplot or surf or mesh (ie lots of polygons). I export two halves of the figure: - One half is the complete figure but with the grayplot visibilitity turned off (ie everything but the big grayplot). I export it as a vector graphic (pdf, eps or svg). - The other half is just the grayplot: I turned all the visibility tags off apart for the grayplot one that I turn on. I export is as a bitmap (bmp, png, whatever). Then I merge the two with Inkscape. It works, but it really is a pain in the beeep! The terms // are also available at // http://www.cecill.info/licences/Licence_CeCILL_V2-en.txt function win=show_graph(GraphList,smode,scale,winsize) endfunction --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The calling convention seems to correspond to the macro listed on forge.scilab.org ( http://forge.scilab.org/index.php/p/metanet/source/tree/master/macros/graph_tools/show_graph.sci ) but the inner code is missing. If I try to call "show_graph(g)" I get an error (guess what, win is undefined!). For some other functions, it seems to be OK: "edit salesman" gives the correct function code. I tried to uninstall/relaunch/reinstall/relaunch but no luck. Does anyone know what's going on here? Any idea on how to fix it? If you know how many bytes are in the header, you can use "mseek" to set the current position of the file pointer. You can use "mgetl" to read lines from the file- after each read, the file pointer is repositioned. Essentially, you read line by line, and discard the output until you reach the end of the header section. If your files are formated such that the header files are of consistent format, you should be able to write a script using these functions. Hello, So I gather from that that intersci is at the moment still the way to go in case you want things to work out-of-the-box. Are there known problems with the x64 implementation of intersci? I get, for a DLL that is compiled x64 and linked against the x64 scilab import libraries, the following message after addinter: Shared archive loaded. Link done. sluofuncs_ is not an entry point. Shared archive loaded. Link done. sluofuncs is not an entry point. addinter([dllName],'sluofuncs',sluofuncsfuns); !--error 999 addinter: An error occurred: The specified module could not be found. The module can most certainly be found, and gets loaded as well. It complains about the "sluofuncs_" entrypoint not being there, but it is there (can easily verify that, e.g. with the dependency viewer). The entrypoints are all generated with intersci-n.exe and f2c.exe and exactly the same procedure works fine for the x86 version. Thank you, Best wishes, Jasper. Have you ever implemented any transfer function on Scilab ? > > Do you have an?easy?example to send me ? Here is an example file of a serials RLC circuit that you can open with Xcos. I used the formula from these basic calculations, with s=j*w/w0 http://silicium628.chez-alice.fr/electron/cours/passe_bas_ordre2/page1.html 1. Open the editor from the Scilab console menu : Applications / Xcos 2. Load the file basic_RLC_simulation.xcos from the Xcos menu : File / Open 3. Run the simulation : Simulation / Start There are several way to tweak the simulation : - change the transfer function by double-clicking on the box - double click on the scope box - double click on the clock box - in the Xcos menu : Simulation / Setup and Simulation / Set Context I think this file pretty much does the same thing as Pr. Costa's Scilab script. With the Xcos graphical way of doing, you can design more complex systems, tweak your model or use it to show results to students who don't necessarily know Scilab. To find out what Xcos exactly is : http://www.scilab.org/en/products/xcos (similar to Simulink under Matlab if you are already familiar with it) -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Thank you for this nice new macro! Some short discussion occurred about it two months ago: http://mailinglists.scilab.org/comet-command-tt2631854.html I have a couple of question & remark about it: i run the first example, and i was wondering how to get it in an isoviewed axes. Unless pre-creating and setting an axes as wished and then run comet() in it, it is presently not possible to specified the isoview attribute when running comet(). This could be useful, since here a post-setting is not really enough. IMO, in the SEP's rationale as well as in the comet help page, explaining in which way comet() and paramfplot2d() differ would be welcome. Moreover, adding paramfplot2d() in the see Also section would likely be convenient. Are you running a Windows machine? you should be able to convert quickly Mac styles ends of line (EOL) to windows EOL. Myself, i use notepad++, Edit menu, End of lines, which will be far too long if you have to do this frequently. using csv_read instead of read_csv (see http://atoms.scilab.org/toolboxes/csv_readwrite/) might solve your problem. Allan? lastly, unhability of read_csv to parse files with exotic EOL characters can be considered as a bug (but might be considered as a "feature"), you might ocnsider to report a bug. best regards Le 29/04/2011 13:24, Adrien Vogt-Schilb a ?crit : > hi > > you can try > > read_csv("myfile.csv"," ") //the second argument is a space between quotes > > read_cvs has a second optional argument, as stated in documentation, > try: help read_csv > > best regards > > Le 29/04/2011 11:39, R Sippe a ?crit : >> Dear Sir/Madam, >> I am new to Scilab and I want to use Scilab to analyze data contained >> in csv files. >> When I use read_csv(myfile.csv) it only returns the first row of the >> data. >> Opening the file in notepad shows that each row of data is separated >> by a space instead of a return. >> However these csv files are outputs of a program and I don?t want to >> change the format manually for each csv file. >> What is the best way to deal with this problem? >> Greets, >> Robin > > > -- > > *Adrien Vogt-Schilb* > > Research Fellow > > vogt at centre-cired.fr > > Tel: (+33) 1 43 94 73 96 > > Fax: (+33) 1 43 94 73 70 > > CIRED > > > > 45 bis, Av de la Belle Gabrielle > > F-94736 Nogent-sur-Marne > > http://www.centre-cired.fr/ > -- *Adrien Vogt-Schilb* Research Fellow vogt at centre-cired.fr Tel: (+33) 1 43 94 73 96 Fax: (+33) 1 43 94 73 70 CIRED 45 bis, Av de la Belle Gabrielle F-94736 Nogent-sur-Marne http://www.centre-cired.fr/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Right, but it is easy to pre-setting the isoview property. As these function have quite different functionalities, I am not convinced that it can be useful. Yes, i agree, but the issue comes from mgetl(), that is used by read_csv(). mgetl() should be able to process files with any of EOL=\r (ascii(13)), or EOL=\l (ascii(10)) or EOL=\r\l or EOL=\l\r Regards Samuel -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
