Bond Graphs have value.  They provide an energy view point.  I don't know
what tools may exist for xcos but a reference to bond graphs in Simulink can
be found at http://eeiwzg.et.tu-dresden.de/ae2_files/ae_8_1e.htm which I
found in the Wikipedia article on bond graph theory.

Recently I bumped into Band Graph theory for modeling physical dynamic
systems I wonder if they are readable in Scilab? Or its compilation to XCOS
or (even SCICOS?). Or is this something not relevant anymore?
