changing font size in a figure

Hello, 

 

I would like to change the default value of the font size of axis labels in
a figure.

It works well with the command 

Xset(“font size”,4)

Before plotting the graph but, as xset is now obsolete, I would like to use
the set command to do set same thing with the axes_properties but I can’t
find the way to make it work.
