Number format changes in editvar function

Hi all:

When I edit a matrix of doubles using "editvar" function, it changes the normal format I am using in the console. Example: 1234.5 in the console, changes to 1.234,5 in the editvar worksheet.

Is there a way to avoid this change ?  The OS is Windows XP Pro, Scilab version is 5.3.0

I will appreciate any information about this.
