scinotes regular expression search

Hi,

while scinotes editing of a text file, I want to replace ';' character by
'newline+carriage return' special character : i checked regular expression
in scope option and it seems only to work on search stage of the process,
not for the replacement stage.
Using perl rules for regular expressions i wrote:
  search field : ;
 replace field : \n     or  $

Can you tell me where i'm wrong ?
