image processing

Hello,

I used to work with dipimage (www.diplib.org) which is a Matlab toolbox
(free for academic use). How similar is SciLab to Matlab? Would it be easy
(possible) to adapt DipImage to the Scilab platform? Is there any interest
of doing so?
