scilab breaks down when using VNC

Hello,

I am running scilab and vnc on Fedora12 machine. When i start scilab the 
console comes properly.

When i do plot it breaks down saying following error message:

./bin/scilab: line 644: 17343 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) 
"$SCILABBIN" "$@"


Any ideas on this:  I am using scilab-5.3.1.bin.linux-i686.tar.gz package.
