stitching images to get panorama effect

 Is panorama effect  is possible in scilab? 
 problem statement: what is the algorithm for getting a single large image
with all pictures merged from the                                                                              
s                           series of pictures with overlapping regins. 

please suggest me how to approach this in scilab  and any toolboxes for
implementing stitching images.
