[Scilab-users] Restart with 5.4.0 update

My problem seems to be that scinotes has vanished.  Neither

--> scinotes    

nor

Applications/scinotes


does anything at all.  A scinotes window used to open and now there is none.

Again, I reinstalled 5.4.0 to no avail.

Recall that a few days ago the scinotes window was opening and I was beginning to make progress. Then it disappeared and I can't do anything useful.

This has to be a simple problem, but it eludes me.
