Has anybody looked at Nick Trefethen's Chebfun project?
It's matlab - the concepts would map to scilab in a straightforward way.
This would be a large but not too complex project.
The idea is to manipulate generic functions by means of their chebychev
expansions.
All the usual operators are overloaded so the syntax is easy to master.
This approach allows a numerically-based package to achieve result
normally reserved
for symbolic tools.
Googling Nick Trefethen Chebfun gives lots of examples and info.
Question -- are there resources to apply to such a project?
Thanks,
Steve
