Actually, I still have a hard time to properly display germany.

a = 1:size(asc_data,1);
b = 1:size(asc_data,2);
grayplot(a,b,asc_data)
neither
grayplot(b,a,asc_data')

puts it in the right direction...?

Regarding the bug I will do some further investigations first.
