I'm answering you cc-ing the Scilab development mailing list since this may be
of interest to others. Also, my reply will be in English because the language on
this mailing list is English, I hope this is fine for you.

I see what you mean in your post.

I don't think however that this problem is a Scipad problem. Indeed I can have a
wrong output in the Scilab shell simply by:

--> printf("measure: 1 µm")

So it seems that there is a bug in the Scilab shell console first.

Browsing the Scilab bugzilla http://bugzilla.scilab.org  I think what you are
reporting is bug 3070:
http://bugzilla.scilab.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3070
