We are currently focusing the development version. That means we are not
testing a lot the binary. We will starting doing so in the next few days
for the first beta of Scilab 5.3.0.

Thanks for the bug report. 
This might be related to an issue with hdf5 libraries.

I am not sure to understand what you are talking about here ?!
AFAIK, there is no Tk into Xcos now.

Indeed, we use it for the Modelica capabilities in Xcos.

By the way, if you don't mind, we could switch to dev at lists.scilab.org
(or private if you prefer) to chat about contribution aspects.
