Release of Scilab 5.4.0 beta 1

Dear Scilab Users,

The R&D team is glad to announce the release of Scilab 5.4.0 beta 1 
which includes Scilab Desktop, XML file reading and writing 
functionalities, major improvements of Scilab graphics, Scilab 
preferences, and new Scilab file format.

Scilab 5.4.0 beta 1 is a test version provided to the community and 
available for download on our website at:
